Job Description

West Sound Workforce is assisting a dynamic nonprofit events organization in Port Angeles in their search for dependable seasonal Prep Cooks and Line Cooks. This vibrant waterfront event venue serves as a hub for creativity and connection. With a mission to bring people together through arts and events, this organization plays a vital role in enriching cultural, educational, and economic experiences throughout the region.

Reporting to the Executive Chef and Kitchen Manager, Prep and Line Cooks will help prepare and execute meals for conferences, performances, receptions, and community events. Ideal candidates bring a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen.

Shift information:
  • Shifts vary based on event schedule
  • Day, evening, and weekend shifts available
What you will do:Line Cooks $20-$22/hr:
  • Prepare hot and cold menu items to order based on event specifications and standardized recipes
  • Work the line during service, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and high quality
  • Assist with buffet setup, plating, and station prep
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen workspace
Prep Cooks $18-$20/hr:
  • Support mise en place and prep tasks such as chopping, portioning, and labeling
  • Assist with food storage, basic cooking, and event setup
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and follow proper food safety protocols
  • Provide general support to the kitchen team as needed
What we are looking for:
  • Line Cooks: Minimum of 1 year experience working on a line in a restaurant or catering kitchen
  • Prep Cooks: Previous kitchen prep experience preferred
  • Current Washington State Food Handler’s Card (required)
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Reliable, professional, and team-oriented mindset
  • Physically able to stand for long periods and perform tasks such as lifting up to 35 lbs, bending, and repetitive motion

Additional Information
