Toll Collector
Job Description
West Sound Workforce is assisting a nationwide company who is renowned for offering trusted transportation solutions to government agencies and private firms in hiring Toll Collectors to work at the Narrows Toll Plaza in Gig Harbor. Providing comprehensive tolling operations, this company prides itself on delivering accurate and reliable services and efficient processes to customers in the communities they serve.
Working solo within their booths, Toll Collectors are responsible for collecting, recording, reporting, and depositing toll revenue for their stations. These positions interact with thousands of travelers per day and because of this, excellent cash handling skills and the ability to deliver the same level of excellent customer service to everyone is a must!
This preferred toll management company is on a mission to improve connectivity through improved transportation systems and excellent service. Those with good basic math skills, who are looking for a part time position, and can commit to a rotating schedule that includes weekends and holidays will be most successful in these positions.
Shift Information:
- Part time
- Schedules vary, including weekends and holidays
- Day, afternoon, and overnight shifts
- Collect toll fees via card or cash, providing change as needed
- Provide customer service, answer inquiries, etc.
- May provide directions or general road information to motorists
- File reports for motorists who fail to pay toll fees
- Balance register at the end of shift
- Previous experience in retail or as a teller - preferred, but not required!
- Excellent cash handling skills and attention to detail
- Experience providing face-to-face customer service
- A positive, friendly demeanor
- Excellent communication skills
- Good physical stamina to stand for the duration of the shift
