Administrative Assistant
Job Description
West Sound Workforce is assisting a Tacoma based municipality in seeking a Temporary Administrative Assistant to support their non-profit housing program. This organization provides safe and affordable housing to low-income families in Pierce County and serves more than 5,000 households each year. With a team of performance driven individuals, this organization is committed to improving the lives of those less fortunate.
Using strong customer service and time management skills, this position will work with community members and landlords navigating Housing Choice vouchers. The ideal candidate is both assertive and compassionate. They are comfortable working with the public while upholding and respecting privacy information.

Shift Information:
- Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
- Flexible, 32-40 hours/week
- Interface with customers and community members via phone, in-person, and virtually
- Provide a high level of customer service, addressing complaints promptly
- Scan and index paperwork according to policy and procedure
- Prepare correspondence, emails, memos, and data to support department needs
- 2 years’ experience as a front office administrative assistant support capacity
- Experience in a municipal setting and/or housing program is a plus
- A professional demeanor and customer service skills
- Proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Experience with database systems preferred
- A strong sense of organization and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Additional Information
