Quality Control Microbiologist
Job Description
West Sound Workforce is assisting Metagenics, a Gig Harbor based manufacturer of high-quality, science-based vitamins and supplements in seeking a Quality Control Microbiologist to join their team. Dedicated to providing effective nutritional products for healthcare professionals, this organization has been redefining what it means to be healthy for over 30 years.
Working within an FDA compliant environment, this position will primarily work within the micro lab and will be responsible for the inspection and microbial testing of all raw production materials and performing microbial assays. Critical thinkers with strong analytical and documentation skills and an interest in pharmaceutical manufacturing processes are most successful in these positions.

What you will do as a Quality Control Microbiologist:
- Determine specific tests to be performed on each raw material product
- Prepare, culture, and examine samples for microbiological testing
- Perform probiotics enumeration and stability testing
- Organize and maintain data files
- Maintain laboratory instrumentation and a clean, sanitary, lab environment
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field
- Previous experience within a microbiology lab and strong understanding of micro lab procedures
- Familiarity with quality control processes in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to effectively document and interpret test results
- Strong computer skills including, Microsoft Office programs and databases
