Controller
Job Description
Reporting to the CEO, the Controller will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and experienced accounting professional who can provide strategic insight, maintain strong financial controls, and support the organization’s continued growth.
Shift information:
- Monday – Friday 8:30 am - 5pm
- Onsite
- Oversee the company’s financial operations, including general ledger management, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Prepare monthly and annual budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to guide strategic decision-making
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Provide leadership and mentorship to accounting staff, supporting professional development and department efficiency
- Utilize accounting software (including Appfolio and QuickBooks Online) to manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax filings, and other financial processes
- Proven experience in general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and financial reporting
- Strong skills in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
- Minimum of 2 years post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or related field, plus at least 2 years of experience as a Controller or in a similar role
- Proficiency with accounting software; experience with Appfolio Property Management Software and QuickBooks Online a plus
- Excellent mentoring, team leadership, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, organizational abilities, and financial acumen, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
