Accounts Payable Clerk
Job Description
Reporting to the Controller, this position is responsible for processing a high volume of invoices with accuracy and efficiency while meeting strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Successful candidates will have strong organizational and time-management skills, along with a keen eye for detail.
Shift information:
- Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
- Manage invoices for multiple properties, ensuring accurate documentation and timely payments to vendors and contractors
- Track rent payments, issue receipts, follow up on overdue accounts, and maintain accurate tenant ledgers
- Input and maintain financial records in accounting software, assisting in generating reports such as income statements and balance sheets
- Monitor property expenses, track budget adherence, and report financial variances to the Controller
- Maintain vendor relations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and assist with audits as needed
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred. Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, ideally in property management or real estate
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, with experience using Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Outlook. Familiarity with property management software e.g., Yardi, AppFolio, RealPage and accounting software e.g., QuickBooks is a plus
- Ability to track financial transactions, maintain tenant ledgers, and ensure precise data entry for multiple properties
- Capable of managing and prioritizing tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to resolve financial discrepancies and work both independently and as part of a team
