Property Accountant

Job Description
Reporting to the CFO, this Property Accountant position will oversee all accounting functions for assigned properties within the portfolio, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. This role requires close collaboration with third-party property managers, as well as internal property management and investor relations teams, to streamline financial processes and support business objectives. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, highly organized, and skilled in operational accounting, with a strong ability to analyze financial data and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Shift information:
- Full time
- Manage property accounting functions, including reconciling financial reports from third-party property managers and ensuring compliance with policies
- Oversee lease and property-related financials, including new leases, renewals, tenant improvements, property taxes, and insurance
- Handle key accounting tasks, such as fixed asset management, loan ledger reconciliation, and bank reconciliations for assigned properties
- Support investor relations, preparing ACH distributions, processing quarterly payouts, and maintaining accurate investor records
- Assist with audits and financial reporting, providing necessary schedules, journal entries, and documentation while maintaining confidentiality
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting with at least five years of GAAP and cash accounting experience
- Real estate industry experience preferred, multi-state accounting experience a plus
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems, RealPage or Sage Intacct would be ideal
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail
